It is the aptitude to use the snow-covered altisurfaces and altiports as well as the glaciers.

The recognition of glaciers becomes more complex if there are no tracks in the snow and the surrounding geography needs to be viewed in context to assist in evaluating the condition of the snow and to help build a complete picture whilst flying over the relief.
