TASMO
TEXT ANALYSIS AND SEMANTIC MODELING
TASMO
stands for "Text Analysis and Semantic Modeling". This is an NLP engine software ("Natural Language Processing") using Artificial Intelligence designed to understand the meaning of human language. It can be used in different fields, either administrative or highly specialized, like healthcare. Customers (mostly banks and administrations) in Kuwait and Qatar are using TASMO on a daily basis for unstructured data classification.
TASMO instantly replaces human analysis of text either in medicine, finance, intelligence, military, industry, construction, or social media and understands, extracts, detects, classifies, and predicts.
is an AI engine working on a multi-dimensional analysis. Each dimension analyzes the document from a different point of vue, and their analyses are combined to determine the best candidate for extraction. Multi-dimensional extraction combines a wide variety of information to create a holistic approach. This is similar to how humans perform text comprehension. This allows TASMO to "understand" texts.
However, each dimension requieres a specific training, or ontology, that must be built on individual case-basis, exactly as a human learns the ontology of medical documents or the ontology of laws.
The Cloud Computing markets are relevant for a wide audience that demands big data solutions which reach beyond keyword search and can easily fit the distribution model of cloud marketplaces. TASMO is now available on Azure ("AZURE" in the name of the Microsoft Cloud System) and on Amazon Marketplace. TASMO currently provides a fixed set of criteria for entity extraction from unstructured text and for connotation analysis for Medical, Financial and Legal texts.

TASMO: Document Classification Case Study
With TASMO, QIIB centrally manages and classifies the confidentiality level of all the documents spread throughout the organization The large volume of documentation produced daily by banks and financial institutions dealing with sensitive data like personal information or trade secrets require the highest levels of security. The first link in the long chain of data security is the discovery of the critical pieces through the organization and the classification of their confidentiality level to inform the decision takers avoid user mishandling.
QIIB is a privately owned Islamic bank in the State of Qatar offering personal and corporate Islamic banking solutions. Established in 1991, QIIB remains true to its Qatari heritage and values. Their family-friendly attitude and personal approach are some of the many reasons their customers choose QIIB as a banking partner for their personal and business needs. QIIB's total assets by the end of 2018 amounted to QAR 50.3 billion, with net profits of QAR 882 million.
As a leading operator in the financial sector, QIIB is committed to the implementation of best data security practices. Both the sensitive data of the customers and their operations as well as the strategic information produced inside the organization for executive purposes need to be protected using best practices, as they are critical to the ongoing success of the company.
With around one thousand workstations in its headquarters and offices, an equal amount of employees handle daily more than a hundred thousand documents, many of them confidential, in a wide range of formats including Microsoft Office and Adobe PDF.
Security is a priority embedded in the bank policies, but ensuring each employee handles confidential information as they should demands the help of a document discovery, tracking, and classification system to avoid accidental or ill-intentioned data leakages. The IT security and infrastructure teams, when looking for a data classification solution, evaluated several providers; all of them multinational companies, with ADGS only being a fully Qatari-owned company with local headquarters. After going for the proof of concept of offered products to evaluate the required functionality and ease of use, ADGS’ TASMO Document Discovery was selected for the task.
The ability to provide face-to-face support locally was highly valued by the decision-makers of both teams. “Automatic classification and ease of use were major selection criteria, but ADGS’ providing local support was a decisive point. Other software providers relied on remote support or a third-party contractor company to provide maintenance, but having direct access to the software creators in Qatar added value to their proposal.”, says H., Chief Information Security Officer.
With TASMO Document Discovery, the plethora of documents spread around the organization domain can now be tracked, together with their minute changes, in a centralized way. Confidentiality classification is automatically applied to every discovered document and shown to the end users in a graphically, unambiguous way; they do not even need to classify the files themselves, for organization policies can be set up centrally in the management console.
TASMO Document Discovery can integrate with third-party software to provide metadata about the documents themselves and the applied classification. ADGS, being the developer of the solution, does not offer a canned product but can customize it to client needs.Since TASMO Document Discovery was deployed in QIIB headquarters, a number of benefits have been realized across the organization that drive a substantial return on the cost of the product, of which the avoidance of a single data leak incident is enough to outweigh.
The ease of use has been a major selection criterion but also a pleasant surprise afterward. “Our employees do not have to climb a learning curve with TASMO. It simply works, almost transparently. When we began our gradual deployment, we would warn the users and do a short training; but now, not even that. We just push it to their computers and wait for them to ask the meaning of the new icons on top of the documents. That is the confidentiality level, you don’t even have to set it yourself!”, says D., assistant manager of cybersecurity. Security does not need to become a nuisance.TASMO Engine is an unstructured search, semantic extraction, and machine learning framework that turns nonintegrated sources of information into a unified data corpus, simplifying the tasks of information finding and retrieval, and the automatic construction of models and prediction schemes on top.
TASMO Engine was developed by ADGS with an innovation grant from Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP).
TASMO Document Discovery is a TASMO-based system to discover documents throughout a corporate domain, classify them according to confidentiality levels, and track them and their modifications centrally.
